Advisory Board Co-Chair
Leann D. Stanick, Esq.

Leann is a NY/NJ-based attorney who practices immigration, real estate, and business law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women’s Studies from the University at Albany, and graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law having earned an International & Comparative Law Certificate. Eager to expand upon her expertise in human rights, Leann went on to complete the Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Diploma Program at American University Washington College of Law.

Throughout her studies, Leann completed internships at the UN-mandated Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Caribbean Law Clinic (Jamaica), various law firms, and study abroad programs in Rwanda, South Africa, and the Cayman Islands. Upon passing the Bar and prior to co-founding her first law practice in 2016, Leann immersed herself in the fields of real estate and immigration, first at a small law firm, then an international law firm, and finally with a multinational professional services firm. At that point in her career, she chose to use her professional and interpersonal skills to build a practice that effectively services immigrants, young professionals, and entrepreneurs. Thus, Leann founded her second solo practice, Stanick Law, LLC., in April 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Leann was born in Trinidad and Tobago, and raised between the islands, New York City, and New Jersey. Her passion for serving migrant communities stems from personal experiences with U.S. immigration, cross-border settlement, and overcoming a series of related obstacles. Having navigated the immigration system herself, she provides invaluable insight and expert guidance. Resilient and purposive, Leann achieves the most favorable outcome for her clients by forming creative solutions to complex legal issues.
