Hamis Guirgis

Development Director

Hamis Guirgis is the Director of Development at Team Wilderness, where she helps grow support for programs that empower youth from marginalized communities through transformative outdoor adventures, academic coaching, and mental health counseling.

A proud Hudson County native, Hamis brings more than six years of experience in nonprofit development, cultivating lasting relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community leaders. Before joining Team Wilderness, she advanced outreach and fundraising at The Hoboken Shelter, helping further its mission to end homelessness one person at a time.

She also serves on the Board of Directors for Street Life Ministry, a Hudson County nonprofit that supports street-dwelling unhoused community and at-risk individuals.

Hamis earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Drexel University, where she served as President of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity. In that role, she mobilized students and volunteers to create meaningful service projects across the city of Philadelphia.

Her deep roots in Hudson County and passion for building community and expanding opportunities for young people continue to guide her work at Team Wilderness.
