Hugo Vaz

Hugo Vaz is an arts administrator, cultural strategist, educator, and multilingual professional with experience spanning arts management, international relations, fundraising, cultural diplomacy, and creative entrepreneurship. He currently serves as Manager of Corporate Partnerships at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), where he manages relationships with more than 60 companies and helps produce high-level events and discussions.
A graduate of Columbia University’s Master Program in Arts Administration, Hugo has also worked with UNESCO’s Liaison Office in New York, supporting initiatives in cultural heritage, artificial intelligence ethics, sustainable development, and international cooperation. His career includes leadership roles in international arts organizations, including the Goiás International Dance Festival and the International Brazilian Opera Company, where he developed partnerships, managed cross-border projects, and coordinated fundraising and cultural programming.
Fluent in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish, with additional proficiency in Dutch, Hugo has extensive experience as an educator, translator, and interpreter. Alongside his administrative work, he is an accomplished cultural entrepreneur and artist whose projects have included music albums, theatrical productions, dance collaborations, and the creation of a multidisciplinary arts hub that supported dozens of independent artists in Brazil.
Besides the arts and culture, Hugo is passionate about nature and enjoys outdoor sports like hiking, camping, mountain biking and rock climbing
